you won't like me when I'm angry
So, there was a Mandy Moore concert yesterday at the Fillmore. We got tickets for it months ahead of time. About a week ago, Y-Y finds that she can't make it, so she offers her ticket to a certain jerk who I shall not reveal (but his first name consists of 4 letters and begins with a "jo" and ends in an "hn"). The jerk accepts and said he'll go.
Now, I'm the one holding all the tickets and I'm planning on driving up to SF. So, essentially, the jerk will be getting a free ticket and would get a free ride up to SF. All the jerk has to do is call me and arrange the plan to go to the concert. The jerk has a week to do this but I never hear a phone call from him. Now did he forget? Can't be because Y-Y called him countless times to remind him that he should make plans with me.
Come the day of the concert (as stated, was yesterday), I call Nam at about 4:30pm (our 3rd person attending the concert) and inform him that I would be leaving at 5:30pm to head up to meet him at the Fillmore. I inform him about the transfer of ticket, how I haven't heard from the jerk yet, and how I intend to sell the ticket if I didn't hear from him by the time I leave. So Nam decides to play an arbitrator of some sort and make sure the jerk calls me by calling him to inform him that he should make plans with me. The jerk tells Nam he will. No phone call. Y-Y, on her own, calls the jerk at about 5-ish to remind him also. He says he will. No phone call.
I end up going to the concert without him and giving the ticket to a roommate of Nam's.
So, let's recount, the jerk tells at least 2 of my friends he's going to use the ticket and go to the concert. Doesn't decide to show up anywhere or even give a phone call to the person holding the tickets at any point even up to when Mandy Moore walks on stage. What happened?
After the concert, I inform Y-Y of the events that transpired. Basically, it's a no-show from the jerk. She gets rightfully angry because she could have offered the ticket to someone else. So she calls him and finds out what happens. Here are the events of what caused the jerk to not show up or call:
- He was playing his ps3
- He did not know what time the concert was to start
- He went to sleep after playing his ps3
And yet he still claims he had every intention to go and wanted to go. He shall be known hence forth as, The Jerk.
Now, I know, why didn't I just call him to make plans? Because I'm petty. He gets a free ticket, he would have gotten a free ride, and he doesn't have to do a single thing? I don't think so. Why should I do the work of making plans with him when he should be the one to call me to make plans? I'm the one with the tickets, time, and location. He doesn't know any of that. It's the principle.
Now, if I'm so angry, why don't I go yell at him? Because I'm petty. I feel if I call him to yell at him, that'd just be giving into The Jerk's laziness. Why should I do work to find the justification for his actions? He should be apologizing, I shouldn't have to seek it. So, because I refuse to contact The Jerk, hence this entry.

shift66: reborn
Well, I've pretty much abandoned this site. My efforts have been put towards shift66.com. As such, I have re-done it as a design journal for my graphic design endeavors. It still will act as my portfolio, but will be more than that.
As for this site, I will continue to maintain it. My personal postings will probably still go here, although those are rare...
