it's spectacular either way you look at it

I'm talking about Morningwood. They might be the next big thing because they rock, and they rock hard (no pun intended). So check them out now (via the Morningwood MySpace profile)--very Yeah Yeah Yeah's-esque (if one was to compare).

and now I relish in pop culture

Here's a reward for all of you. Check this post @ stereogum and download the song "Consequence" by The Notwist that is linked from the article. (I would link directly to the file but I don't think it's right). Anyway, enjoy.

I prefer to hide in pop culture and pseudo-reality

I am disappointed by the results of the election. I have this distinct feeling that a good number of the people, who voted "no" on all the propositions, got swept up in the whole "Arnold is wasting our money with this special elections" and didn't even bother to look at the propositions themselves and just voted "no" to spite the Governor (thus buying into partisan-politics). Assuming I am correct, they don't realize that shooting down any of the reforms via an un-informed decision is the actual waste of money, since in essence, the special elections changed nothing. Mob mentality. I have low faith in the general population to actually look at the issues.

(Naturally, this is assuming that the propositions are plausible changes to begin with, which is arguable, but let's assume they were in the case of my argument above.)

(Oh and I have no problem with people voting "no" (or "yes") as long as it is an informed decision based on their belief on the issue.)
