frosted mini wheats - Anakin turning to the darkside while married to Natalie Portman

What? And Why?
Crying While Eating. Weird or ultra weird? (I cracked up on the reason for Aaron, oh the irony.)

Rilo Kiley at The Grand
It was spectacular. Everyone knows Rilo Kiley rocks, but I'll spend my time highlighting one of their opening acts, The Brunettes. I would rate them as, perhaps, one of the best opening acts I've seen (who I hadn't heard of before seeing them of course). Their music is similar to Rilo Kiley's, except with way more instruments (I mean, they even had some duck noise instrument). It's a little bit chaotic at times, but I love how they break the traditional song line. It also helps that one of the singers, Heather (pronounced Heether), is pretty (looks like a cross between Ashley Judd and a young Teri Hatcher). Oh, and Nam had the hots for Harry.

The other opening act, Feist, was a bit of a downer. Her music would probably have been enjoyable if I was sipping tea and chilling in a lounge or coffee shop. However, I wasn't doing that, instead, I was standing in a large crowd waiting to rock out to some Rilo Kiley, and to that scenario, it failed, miserably. In all, her performance was nifty (with the live recording and replaying-thing-a-ma-jigger) but, ultimately, a snoozefest.

a golden smileJem at Radio Alice: Summerthing
What can I say? I'm in love. Jemma Griffiths was so pretty and performed so well that I'm completely smitten. I took countless pictures of her, all of them fairly similar, but I still wish I could take more! (And the picture there was right before she waved at Ky and I). She performed a few titles off her debut album (such as "24," "They," "Just a Ride," and "Come on Closer"), Finally Woken, and a few cover songs, notably, Coldplay's "In My Place" (the one she performed on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge--I absolute loved it--click on the link to judge for yourself). It was a wonderful performance under ideal weather (especially for the sunset area) and it was too bad she had to run off to catch a flight to Germany. I couldn't even snap a few more pictures of her while she was leaving. Next time perhaps. Enamored, I am.

and i ask myself

I have suddenly found myself respecting Bloc Party just a little more after seeing them on Conan last night. Why in particular? Because I found out their lead singer is black. So does this say something about me that I don't know? Probably, but I think Hootie and the Blowfish suck.

my phobia resurfaces

A guy was attacked by a great white shark today. Quoted from the article:

Schoelkopf said there was no reason for people to change their swimming habits because of the latest incident, noting "there's a greater chance of getting hit by lightning" than of being bitten by a shark.

Sure, sounds good, assuming you don't go into the water that is. However, I'm pretty sure the chance of you getting bitten by a shark while swimming in shark infested water would be higher than the chance of you getting hit by lightning while standing in a thunderstorm.

greek goddess of victory, barefoot

I am interested in getting one of the new Nike 5.0 Free. It seems like a silly but neat concept: a shoe made to feel like barefeet. Now I could get one for a reasonable price of $85, but those pre-designed ones are sort of fugly. Does an extra $15 justify getting one like the one I linked?
